Reviewing Differences
Once you have run a comparison, you can review the differences between the two files by:
To Review Differences:
- Run the comparison as explained here
- Open the Difference Inspector by choosing Window > Difference Inspector In the main window, differences are highlighted with a different background color. Red for field differences, yellow for missing records.
- Click on a difference in the main window Details of the difference will be shown in the Difference Inspector
- Click on any difference to update the contents of the Difference Inspector
Alternatively:
- Right mouse click on a difference in the main window The Difference Inspector will be opened at the mouse point, displaying the details of the selected difference
To filter data displayed in the results window:
- Choose Comparison > Results Filtering > All Records or Difference Records to filter records (rows)
- Choose Comparison > Results Filtering > All Fields, Compared Fields or Difference Field to filter fields (columns)
Default settings for filtering can be set in the preferences, by choosing Differencia > Preferences > Results
Displaying Collated / Interleaved Results
- Check the "Collate Results" switch box to display each record from the first file followed immediately with the matching record from the second file.
